a continuation of the 'Wifey4Lifey' performance but now the question is who to marry in a deeper sense; digging deeper into Dutch immigration law, one finds out that there are specific requirements a Dutch groom (in my case) needs to have. One of the requirements is that of his monthly pay. He in the eyes of the laws and regulations is taking the position of the financial care-taker of his non-eu wife (me). Though, next to the Dutch immigration law on one side, I want to take, for this performance into consideration also the wishes of my family members (mother, father, uncle and grandma) and investigate on spot on what they think my special half needs to have.
Practically, during the performance, I will mix acrobatic skills of aerial silks and phone live conversations with my family members which on spot will be translated in English for the international public.
The hardship and difficulty of me doing the aerial silk represents the frustration I am having balancing the wishes of the state, of my family and everybody else's expectation on who and why I should marry.
